Harry Sparnaay

Harry Sparnaay was the pioneer who turned the bass clarinet into a fully fledged solo instrument. Countless composers wrote for him, from Berio and Ferneyhough to Loevendie, Isang Yun and Guus Janssen.

On Attacca he can be heard on the very first album of the Ladder of Escape series, with Het Trio, in duo with pianist Polo de Haas as Fusion Moderne, and as a soloist in Xenakis' music with the Asko Ensemble.
